John Harlow
John Harlow joined Tooting & Mitcham United at the start of the 1954/55 season from Southall. He would earn three England Amateur International Caps, some as captain and became skipper of the Terrors.

A defender who played predominately at right back, making in the region of 200 appearances for the club, scoring two goals. John won two Isthmian League titles with us in seasons 1957/58 & 1959/60, but was unlucky with injuries, so missed most of the 1957/58 campaign. The Athenian League title was also won in season 1954/55, with John a prominent member of the side. He also played in the never to be forgotten FA Cup Third Round Proper tie against eventual winners Nottingham Forest at Sandy Lane. The Terrors taking their illustrious rivals to a replay.

John’s other honours included playing for the Athenian League, Isthmian League, Middlesex FA and Middlesex Wanderers. The London Senior Cup was won, with John giving a solid performance at the back and he also played in the London Challenge Cup Final at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea in November 1959, the Terrors giving a good account of themselves before going down to a 2-1 defeat.

John retired at the end of the 1959/60 season.
